Why We Ride In Fox
Our story with Fox is two-fold. First, we've always loved the brand, long before it was ever a partnership. Watching riders on the international stage wearing that logo, we knew one day that would be us. There's something about growing up watching a brand at the top level of the sport and then eventually riding in it yourself that never quite loses its shine.
Then there's the local team. They're next level: helpful, genuinely good people, and true to their word every time. In an industry where that's not always a given, it's invaluable.
Fox has been part of South African riding for a long time, distributed locally for close to twenty years, which means parts, sizing and support are actually available here rather than stuck in an overseas warehouse. That matters more to us than a flashy logo.
Their Story
From A Garage In California To Cape Town Trails
Fox Racing traces back to 1974, when Geoff Fox started a small business distributing motocross parts under the name Moto-X Fox. Around the same time, his brother Bob was developing an air shock in a friend's garage. The two brands split in 1977, with Geoff's side becoming Fox Head (the protective gear and apparel company known today as Fox Racing) and Bob's side becoming the separate suspension company most riders know as Fox Factory.
What's sold as Fox Racing gear in South Africa, the jerseys, gloves, knee pads and helmets, comes through Sector Apparel, the brand's official licensee and distributor here for nearly two decades. That local distribution is why sizing, warranty support and stock are actually accessible to South African riders rather than only available through grey imports.
